چکیده

In order to cope with the needs of fifth-generation (5G) cellular networks and beyond, phased-array antenna systems operating at millimeter-wave (mm-wave) frequencies will be required. This makes system design very complex. create insight agility in process, we propose a framework that visualises requirements trade-offs 5G-and-beyond systems. Our literature survey uses this compare state-of-the-art papers on Silicon-based beamforming integrated circuits (BFICs) mm-wave band. Three use-cases are analyzed: Base-stations (BSs), Gateways (GtWs) User Terminals (UTs). Based framework, explore which implementation fits best each use-cases. UT, space power consumption main constraints. For BSs, constraint is output noise figure (NF). Finally, GtW applications there more flexibility as it has larger footprint than UT but doesn’t necessarily need cover same link-budget constraints BSs. One identified limitations throughout all cases heat generation, seen major bottleneck phased arrays. Only few references show proper modelling simulations for transfer realized BFICs. limitation BFICs power. realize link least 13 dBm would required input element. meet criterion, only saturation. Further, achieve back-off operation higher density imply further increase generation system.

Photonic Integrated Circuits for Phased-array Beamforming

Photonic integration is very promising to bring down volume and weight of phased-array beamforming networks. In addition, photonics allows for increased functionality for widebandwidth systems. In this paper we demonstrate the feasibility of phase and amplitude control of a 16-element phased-array antenna with a single InP integrated circuit. The concept and design of an optical phase locked lo...

A MEMS Capacitive Microphone Modelling for Integrated Circuits

In this paper, a model for MEMS capacitive microphone is presented for integrated circuits.  The microphone has a diaphragm thickness of 1 μm, 0.5 × 0.5 mm2 dimension, and an air gap of 1.0 μm. Using the analytical and simulation results, the important features of MEMS capacitive microphone such as pull-in voltage and sensitivity are obtained 3.8v and 6.916 mV/Pa, respectively while there is no...
